SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Folks were invited to downtown Sevierville Saturday afternoon to sample a taste of Tennessee at Bruce Street Brewfest.

The annual event featured dozens of locally crafted brews with ingredients that were sourced from local farmers.

Brewfest also allowed visitors to sample hundreds of different ales.

For the brewers, it’s a way to show off what can be produced right here at home.

“We’re Tennessee Brew Works, we’re based out of Nashville, but we celebrate all of Tennessee, and what a great way to celebrate Tennessee by coming out here on a beautiful afternoon and hang out with our folks here in Sevierville. It’s great stuff,” said Thomas Gingerich, with Tennessee Brew Works. “One of the things that people are starting to discover is that you can get some great quality stuff that’s produced right here by your neighbors. We used locally sourced grains from Tennessee, we brew in Tennessee, and we exclusively sell in Tennessee.”

The event helps to raise money for the Sevierville Commons Association, which works to promote downtown Sevierville.
