East Tennessee deputy arrested for domestic assault, sheriff says

JEFFERSON CO., Tenn. (WVLT) - A deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was suspended indefinitely after being arrested Wednesday, according to Sheriff Jeff Coffey.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Old Newport Highway.

Deputy Brandon Bullins was at the home with his girlfriend, according to Coffey.

“Deputies were able to determine that an assault had taken place and based off of what both subjects stated on body camera footage and written statements, Deputies were able to determine a primary aggressor,” Coffey said.

Bullins was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

Coffey said Bullins was a deputy with the department for nine years and was suspended indefinitely after the arrest.
