Mother charged with false reporting in connection with disappearance of 2-year-old daughter, police say

Enterprise, Ala. (WTVY/Gray News) - A 2-year-old girl in Alabama is missing and her mother has been charged as the search for the toddler continues, authorities said.

On Feb. 16, Genesis Nova Reid was reported missing around 3 a.m. after her mother said the toddler was not found in her bed.

Authorities said in a news release that her mother told police the door to the home was found open. But as the investigation progressed, detectives conducted multiple interviews and determined the child had not been seen in several weeks.

Now her mother, Adrienne Reid, has been charged with false reporting to law enforcement. She is being held without bond.

Investigators are actively investigating a woman known as “Moriah” as a person of interest. Police emphasized that she is not considered a suspect at this time.

The missing child’s father and other relatives are cooperating fully with the investigation, police said.
