KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Friendsville woman is facing charges for logging false hours at the Knoxville company she worked for, racking up more than $100,000 in pay she did not earn, according to a police report obtained by WVLT News.

According to the report, the owner of Goddard Industrial on W. Gov. John Sevier Highway told police that one of his employees, Brandi Marie McCraine McConniel, had been stealing since she was hired in 2020. McConniel’s daughter was also accused of logging fake hours.

McConniel was in charge of processing payroll at the company, police said. Using that access, she logged extra hours, paid time off and vacation pay while working at Goddard Industrial, police said, totaling $103,193.84 for herself and $8,980.00 for her daughter.

When police spoke with both the McConniels, the report said, the mother gave a written statement saying only she had been responsible for submitting the false hours. She was charged with computer offense and theft.

McConniel’s daughter was not charged, but could be at a later date by the district attorney.
