OAKDALE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A man has been convicted in a 2020 murder that happened in Roane County, District Attorney Russell Johnson announced Sunday.

Joshua Aikens, 39, was convicted on Friday of first-degree murder in the death of Robert Quenton McCullough, Johnson said. The investigation began on Oct. 17, when McCullough’s mother reported him missing, then came to a head on Dec. 2 when McCullough’s body was found in an abandoned trailer in Oakdale, Tennessee.

According to Aikens’ court warrant, he, Shane Parks and Nicholas Holloway tied McCollough up using rope and zip ties while McCillough was at Holloway’s home. From there, they reportedly took McCollough to the trailer and left him.

Aikens was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Johnson also said that, with “good behavior” credit, Aikens could be released as early as 51 years from his initial arrest.

Several agencies investigated the case, including the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, the Rockwood Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Johnson, Aikens, Parks and Holloway were all charged in the murder. Parks and Holloway are still, however, awaiting trial.
