SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Sevier Animal Care Center in Sevierville said it is waiving all adoption fees until further notice due to being “extremely over capacity.”

In a social media post, the animal shelter said it took in three emergency animal control cases totaling 16 dogs and puppies Monday. This comes after all 35 of their dog and puppy kennels were already full.

In order to provide the dogs with enough room, officials said they had to put dogs in outside runs and temporary pop-up crates throughout the building in addition to puppies in the visit room.

“Sadly, we have to completely shut down intake until we have some adoptions. We are in really bad shape,” the shelter said.

The Sevier Animal Care Center is open from 1-5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday for anyone interested in adopting.
