KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a crash on Friday, according to the office.

Cpl. Cody Bengel provided WVLT News with a release that said the deputy was hit by a driver who ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 321 and Highway 70.

“After reviewing dash cam video from another LCSO deputy who was present at the scene, the Tennessee Highway Patrol determined that the other driver ran the red light, which led to the crash,” the office said. “The Tennessee Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation, and we appreciate their thorough response to the incident.”

The deputy was hurt, but only minorly. The other driver was not injured.
