‘I was praying’ | Rescued Maryville pastor sits down with WVLT News
WVLT’s Ted Hall sat down with Pastor Josh Sullivan for the first time since he was rescued.
MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Back in April, Josh Sullivan was kidnapped while doing mission work in South Africa.
Sullivan was based at the Baptist church since 2018 with his family.
A multi-agency task force in country began investigating the kidnapping and found where Sullivan was being held.
While rescuing him, three suspects were shot. No other injuries were reported, including Sullivan.
WVLT’s Ted Hall sat down with him for the first time since he came back.
“I was in there and the whole time that it wasn’t sleep,” Sullivan said. “Yeah, those just pray without ceasing. It might have been the first time I ever did that for sure. I was praying. I was singing hymns.”
WVLT News will have the full interview available Friday.
