30 Days 30 Vols: #3 Miles Kitselman
He led the tight ends with 301 yards, including four receiving touchdowns and one rushing score, last year.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - As part of the countdown to kickoff for University of Tennessee football, WSMV is spending the month of August profiling 30 UT football players in ‘30 Days 30 Vols’. The segments air on WSMV’s 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. University of Tennessee Tight End Miles Kitselman is #3 on the countdown.
After a breakout season with the Big Orange in 2024, which saw him play in all 13 games, Miles Kitselman is returning as the go-to guy in Tennessee’s tight end unit.
He led the tight ends with 301 yards, including four receiving touchdowns and one rushing score, last year. He’s spending his college career a lot more than 301 yards away from his home in Kansas, though.
“It’s definitely hard being 12 hours away from home, but I’ve been 12 hours away from home for the past three or four years. So you get used to it,” he said. “My mom’s a phenomenal cook, and so that’s probably the hardest part about being away.”
That said, he said he does get to see his family often.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
“My family makes it up here as much as they can, which is often. And you know, they love the mountains, they love Knoxville,” he said. “They love how it’s a foodie town. And you know, we always have a blast when they come up.”
Knoxville is different than home, though.
“I would say, simply put, there’s probably more cows in my county that I live in than people,” Kitselman said. “Yeah, so if you can picture that, it’s about what it’s like.”
Kitselman will head down to Atlanta this week to open Tennessee’s 2025 season against Syracuse.
30 Days 30 Vols is the latest offering in a newly announced partnership between University of Tennessee Athletics, the Vol Network, and Gray Media, including WSMV (Nashville), WVLT (Knoxville), and WMC (Memphis), naming them as the Official Television Stations of the Tennessee Volunteers. The partnership is set to deliver more television coverage of Tennessee Athletics than ever before to local audiences. This partnership will cover the three largest markets in the Volunteer State through Gray’s newly-launched Tennessee Valley Sports Network, with plans to expand to Chattanooga and Jackson. TVSN will feature locally produced sports and entertainment content powered by WSMV, WVLT and WMC.
