Repairs to I-40 after Helene won’t be complete until 2027, TDOT says
TDOT’s Mark Nagi said Wednesday that repairs between mile marker 446 and 451 along the Tennessee-North Carolina state line were ongoing.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Repairs to I-40 in Cocke County after Hurricane Helene will likely not be completed until the fall of 2027, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Nagi also said repairs to I-40 had cost a total of $245 million. According to Nagi, the original damage estimate after Helene was $510 million. He added that TDOT had received $280 in reimbursements for repairs.
