Starbucks investing $100 million into new Nashville corporate offices, bringing thousands of jobs to area
The announcement was made at the site of the company’s new office at Peabody-Union.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee joined Starbucks leadership Tuesday to announce that the company will open a corporate office in Nashville.
The announcement was officially made at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center on Peabody Street at 9 a.m.
Jeff Hite of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce welcomed members of the media to the new office location for Starbucks.
“Welcome to Peabody Union... the future home of Starbucks’ Nashville office,” Hite said.
Lee spoke a short time later and added that the Starbucks announcement comes along with a $100 million capital investment and approximately 2,000 jobs.
“This is because of the people of our state, who have created an environment, a business environment, a community, a lifestyle environment that is attractive to people,” Lee explained. “That is why people are moving here from all over the country, that’s why companies like this are making decisions to be here.”
Brian Niccol, the CEO of Starbucks, said the decision to move to Nashville was based on the company’s strategic positioning as it works to create a larger presence along the East Coast.
Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell also expressed excitement at Starbucks’ decision to invest in Music City.
“Your commitment to creating 2,000 jobs here in Nashville means thousands of Nashvillians will have the means, not just to cover the basics, but to build a great life, and do it in the city they love,” O’Connell said.
Hiring has already begun for the new Nashville positions, but no timeline was provided for the official move to begin.
