Roane County crash causes miles-long backups on I-40 E

ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - All lanes of I-40 East in Roane County have opened after a major crash caused miles-long backups.

Mark Nagi with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the crash involved commercial vehicles around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. By 8:30 a.m., he said the lanes were expected to open by 10 a.m. TDOT’s traffic maps showed the lanes open as of 9:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported, according to Nagi.
