It’s the second time in the last year Mullins, who is also a member of the Hancock County School Board, has been at the center of a TBI investigation.
HANCOCK COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a Hancock County man has been indicted after he allegedly tried to influence potential jurors before a trial.
In February, TBI said agents began investigating allegations involving 75-year-old Jack Mullins, of Sneedville, who was the defendant in a jury trial on Feb. 26.
During the investigation, agents gathered evidence indicating that Mullins contacted potential jurors in an attempt to influence the outcome of the trial, TBI said.
On Monday, the Hancock County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Mullins with one count of improper influence of a juror. He was arrested and booked into the Hancock County Jail, where he is being held on a $5,000 bond.
