KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville man is facing charges after hitting a construction worker who was trying to blockade a construction site according to the Knoxville Police Department.

It happened Monday around 7:30 a.m., according to court records obtained by WVLT News. An incident report identified the suspect as 45-year-old Johnathan Davis.

According to the report, a construction worker was setting up the road block at 5604 Davida Road in North Knoxville. While doing so, the report said, Davis became angry and started arguing with the worker.

“During the altercation, Davis struck [the victim] on the right side of the face. I observed that the inside of [the victim’s] right cheek appeared bruised and contained a blood blister,” the report said. “A witness... was positioned behind [the] vehicle and recorded the incident on a dash camera.”

Davis denied hitting the worker, the report said, but was still charged with assault.
