MEDIC Regional Blood Center expanding to Sevierville with new donor center
MEDIC Regional Blood Center is expanding for the first time since 2018.
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - MEDIC Regional Blood Center is set to expand for the first time since 2018.
MEDIC will be opening its Sevierville Donor Center in January 2027 off of Winfield Dunn Parkway.
Vice President of Communications and PR Kristy Altman said it will provide a huge boost to MEDIC’s inventory.
“We are very excited to announce this expansion and to have a permanent location in Sevier County,” said Altman. “This expansion will allow us to operate in the area six days per week year-round and that will provide huge boost for our blood product inventory.”
The center will offer whole blood, double red (ALYX) and platelet donation opportunities. It’s something that Erin Cavette, Sevierville Chamber of Commerce membership director, said will help MEDIC continue to be a force across East Tennessee.
“MEDIC is a force for good across our region,” said Cavette. “While they’ve been engaged Chamber members for over eight years, we’re excited to officially welcome them to the community when their new Sevierville location opens early next year.”
Until the center opens, MEDIC will periodically host blood drives at that location. The first blood drive will take place on July 17 from noon to 6 PM.
