What This Story Is About

  • Loudon County investigators and a SWAT team raided a home on Highland Park Drive on Saturday, August 29.

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A drug raid near an elementary school on Saturday ended with a SWAT team arresting a barricaded suspect hiding inside a crawl space.

Investigators with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit, SWAT Team, K9 Unit and patrol deputies, alongside the Blount County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Highland Park Drive.

Loudon County Sheriff Jimmy Davis said investigators had prior knowledge that a suspect, Caiden Hall, had an active warrant and was inside the home.

As SWAT vehicles pulled into the driveway, Hall attempted to flee by jumping out of a rear window. However, when Hall spotted K9 units securing the perimeter, he retreated back inside and barricaded himself in a crawl space.

After Hall refused verbal commands to surrender, SWAT officers entered the loft area of the home, located him in the crawl space and took him into custody.

Inside the residence, investigators recovered nearly an ounce of methamphetamine, scales, syringes, packaging materials and a meth pipe.

The raid took place near Highland Park Elementary School.

Sheriff Davis emphasized the importance of keeping school zones safe, though officials noted the residence was just outside the exact distance boundary required to legally enhance the narcotics charges under school zone laws.

“We will continue to pursue those who bring illegal drugs into our community and hold them accountable,” Sheriff Davis said. “Our children deserve to grow up and go to school in a safe environment, and we will do everything within our authority to protect them.”
