KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - McGhee Tyson announced that they are to see the busiest day in airport history, with approximately 10,000 passengers traveling to and from Knoxville for the Tennessee vs. Texas game.

“A big football weekend + fall break travel = a VERY busy McGhee Tyson Airport!” the post said.

Due to the high volume of travelers coming through the airport, TYS says that passengers should arrive to the airport at least three hours before their flight.

Additionally, other delays are to be expected, as long lines will be present at ticket counters, security and concessions.
