ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies are tied in the National League Wild Card Series, with a decisive Game 3 set for Thursday.

The game’s start time has been moved to 8:15 p.m., the Braves confirmed overnight.

Braves, Phillies and their fans went to bed without knowing whether Game 3 would be played in the afternoon or at night.

The start time depended on the outcomes of Wednesday night’s Wild Card Series games between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres. Those games ended around 1 a.m. Thursday.

Since the Yankees and Padres both won — completing sweeps of their respective series — the Braves-Phillies game was able to move into 8 p.m. ET slot. If either the Red Sox or Cubs would have won, the Atlanta game would have started at 2 p.m. ET.

In the first two games of the series, the Braves and Phillies played at 2 p.m., leading off a four-game wild card slate Tuesday and Wednesday. The early start created scheduling challenges for fans unable to leave work or school.

Whoever wins Game 3 between the Braves and Phillies will travel to Los Angeles to open a best-of-five series against the Dodgers on Saturday.
