KPD: Firefighters chased man who disabled fire truck; suspect charged

A Knoxville man faces charges after he allegedly disabled a Knoxville Fire Department fire truck that was responding to an emergency call on Sunday.
Jeremy Wynn, 42, faces two counts of vandalism, reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say a fire truck was responding to a call at 12:31 a.m. Sunday morning when a man threw an outdoor cigarette receptacle in front of the truck. The receptacle got lodged between the front axle and tie rod of the truck, disabling it, according to a police report.
Wynn fled the scene, with the firefighters chasing after him. They caught him at the Hilton Hotel.
Wynn is currently being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.
Police say another fire truck responded to the original emergency call.
