Small plane crashes near Soddy Daisy

Debris from a small, single engine plane crash was found in Hamilton County on the Tennessee River, officials told

.

According to the station, a neighbor reported the crash around 1:48 p.m. and alerted officials the site was north of Soddy Daisy.

Rescue boats reached the scene near Hobo Bluff roughly an hour after that 911 call came in. Crews reported that they could see the plane's fuselage in the water.

The identities and number of people on board wasn't immediately clear. Officials indicated they were unable to identify signs of survivors.

High wind and rough water forced crews out of the river, however divers were standing by waiting for better conditions.
