Knox County middle school student taken into custody after making verbal threat, official says

Knox County will pause its plan to change how agricultural land is zoned, Mayor Glenn Jacobs announced Friday.

Students were dismissed early out of an abundance of caution, the district said.

The recommendation now goes back to Knox County Commission for a final vote.

The decision paves the way for a proposed 55-and-older residential community.
