Knox County will pause its plan to change how agricultural land is zoned, Mayor Glenn Jacobs announced Friday.
Students were dismissed early out of an abundance of caution, the district said.
Officials said the school’s administration worked with the school safety officer and law enforcement to quickly handle the situation.
The recommendation now goes back to Knox County Commission for a final vote.
