KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knox County Commissioner Kim Frazier has officially announced her bid for Knox County mayor. Frazier filed for her candidacy in September, but has held off on an official announcement until now.
The at-large commissioner outlined several of her policy priorities ahead of the May 5, 2026 republican primary, saying she wanted to emphasize responsible growth, fiscal responsibility and bolstering public schools.

“It has been an incredible privilege to serve all of Knox County as an at-large commissioner,” said Frazier. “I’m running for mayor to continue that service — to continue to be a voice for the hard working people of our county, to lead with efficiency, invest where it matters most, and preserve what makes our county so special.”
She is joined in the race by Commissioner Larsen Jay and Knox County School Board Chair Betsy Henderson.
