Knoxville police identify victim in deadly McCalla Avenue shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department has identified the victim in an early December shooting as 32-year-old Inmer Arita. No suspects in the shooting have been identified or found, but officers are on the lookout for a person of interest in the shooting: 33-year-old Job Alvarado-Lainez.

Alvarado-Lainez has an active warrant out for unlawful weapon possession under state or federal law, according to KPD. Officers said he was spotted driving away from the scene.

He’s still at large, and detectives are “continuing to attempt to find” him, according to KPD.

The shooting itself happened on Dec. 6 outside a home on McCalla Avenue, which is where Arita lived.
