KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on I-640 Thursday night, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
KPD’s Scott Erland said it happened near the Broadway exit in the eastbound lanes. The driver was taken from the scene, he said, and pronounced dead at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
“Based on the investigation being led by KPD crash reconstruction personnel, it appears that the motorcycle swiped another vehicle for reasons that remain under investigation before colliding with the barrier wall,” Erland said. “The other involved vehicle sustained minor damage, and the occupants were uninjured.”
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
