KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Emergency crews closed Forth Dickerson Park Friday morning, saying the Knox County Rescue Squad would be searching for a person who jumped into Augusta Quarry and never resurfaced Thursday night.
“It is undetermined if the man made it out of the water, but crews are conducting a thorough search out of an abundance of caution,” a notice from the Knoxville Police Department said.
In an update Friday afternoon, the department said video evidence discovered during the investigation captured the man who jumped into the quarry leaving the area late Thursday night after emergency crews left the scene.
