Halloween treats before November rain returns
Meteorologist Megan Duzmal is tracking dry trick-or-treating before Sunday brings much-needed drought relief
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - We are wrapping up the month of October with dry skies, but rain returns in November.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 40s with mostly clear skies. Patchy fog will be possible as you head out the door Friday morning.
FRIDAY: The warmest day of the week, with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s. Cloud cover will increase throughout the day, but we stay dry as we wrap up the workweek. Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight.
HALLOWEEN: With the increase in cloud cover, Saturday morning starts off milder in the low to mid 50s before warming into the mid 70s by afternoon. We expect to stay mostly dry for trick-or-treating, though a slight chance for spotty showers develops after sunset and into the overnight. For those staying out late, the best chance for a stray shower arrives after midnight.
SUNDAY: On-and-off rain chances wrap up the weekend, bringing much-needed rainfall to the area. Most totals should stay under a quarter inch, but after a two-week dry stretch, every drop helps our worsening drought conditions.

LOOKING AHEAD: Next week brings lingering slight rain chances, with our next substantial rain chance arriving midweek.
