KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - After nearly 2 weeks of rain-free conditions, rain returns for the first week of November.

FRIDAY: The warmest day of the week, with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s. Cloud cover will increase throughout the day, but we stay dry as we wrap up the workweek. Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight.

HALLOWEEN: With the increase in cloud cover, Saturday morning starts off milder in the low to mid 50s before warming into the mid 70s by afternoon. We expect to stay mostly dry for trick-or-treating, though a slight chance for spotty showers develops after sunset and into the overnight. For those staying out late, the best chance for a stray shower arrives after midnight.

SUNDAY: On-and-off rain chances wrap up the weekend, bringing much-needed rainfall to the area. Most totals should stay under a quarter inch, but after a two-week dry stretch, every drop helps our worsening drought conditions.

LOOKING AHEAD: Early next week brings lingering rain chances, but all eyes are on mid-late week as we track another round of potentially more active weather.
