Knox Pride cancels 2025 festival and parade
In a Facebook post, Knox Pride said it was cancelling the 2025 parade and festival.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Wednesday, Knox Pride announced via its Facebook page that it was cancelling its 2025 festival and parade.
In a video, Executive Director John Camp said the decision was made following the organization’s inability to secure liability insurance for the event.
“I know this is disheartening, disappointing, and upsetting for a lot of folks,” said Camp.
Camp added they had been working to inform vendors and others of the decision and now had turned to attendees to share the information.
The executive director said they are working on finding a plan for the 2026 event, hoping to avoid a similar occurrence.
“Safety is a huge concern for our community right now around the country,” said Camp.
The organization said they had been working closely with the city to put the event on.
