KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Heading into Halloweekend, expect cloudy skies and slight chances of spooky sprinkles.

FRIDAY: We cap off the workweek on a warm note, with highs peaking in the mid to upper 70s. Filtered sunshine gives way to thickening cloud cover by late afternoon, though dry weather holds through the overnight hours.

HALLOWEEN: Clouds keep Saturday morning comfortable in the 50s, leading into an afternoon in the mid-70s. Prime trick-or-treating hours look favorable and mostly rain-free. A few isolated sprinkles could pop up after dark, but any meaningful shower chances hold off until well past midnight.

SUNDAY: A soggy pattern settles in to close out the weekend, delivering welcome rainfall across East Tennessee. Accumulations should generally remain below a tenth an inch, offering some beneficial moisture to help chip away at expanding drought conditions mostly for our western counties.

LOOKING AHEAD: Isolated shower chances remain scattered through early next week before a stronger frontal system introduces our next widespread rain threat by Wednesday and Thursday.
