Caroline Mueller
Multi-media Journalist
Caroline joined the WVLT news team in January 2026 as a multi-media journalist.
As a military kid, Caroline has lived all over the place including Northern Virginia, just outside D.C., Gaeta, Italy, Newport, Rhode Island, and Virginia Beach. When her mother retired from the Navy, her family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where they have been since 2015, and where she calls home.
Caroline attended Girls Preparatory School and graduated in 2020. She then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Journalism and Media and a minor in Political Science. Go Vols! At UT, Caroline became deeply involved in the Volunteer Channel, the student-run TV station, which sparked her ambition to become a news reporter. She was honored with the "Digital Media Excellence Award," the Volunteer Channel's "Student of the Year Award," and named a Volunteer of Distinction in her final semester.
During her time in college, Caroline completed an internship here at WVLT, where she was a reporter and contributed stories to the daily newscasts. One of those stories won "Best TV News Story" in the college division at the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters Awards.
Following graduation, Caroline worked at WYMT in Hazard, Kentucky from June 2024 to January 2026, where she gained valuable experience covering local news stories and developing her skills as a reporter.
In her free time, you can find Caroline spending time with her beloved orange cat, Sarge, or enjoying time with family and friends.
