The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed the shooting occurred in Rocky Top on Saturday morning shortly after 8 a.m.
Felicia Adkins reached out to WVLT's Amanda Hara Friday night saying she was afraid of her neighbor. Saturday morning she said he pulled a gun on her fiance, David (Davey) Roach. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to TBI, officers found Roach outside of the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.
WVLT News crews on scene saw Rocky Top Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation investigating the shooting at the 300 block of Willow Lane in Rocky Top.
Adkins said she was in their pickup with her boyfriend trying to leave the house. Adkins said their neighbor was outside and got in an argument with Roach. That's when Adkins said the man pulled his gun and fired at least four shots.
A neighbor performed CPR on Roach and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to Adkins.
Roach and Adkins were planning to get married in 2020. Roach also had two children, a son, and daughter. Both kids will graduate high school next year.
Adkins said she feared the feud with their neighbor would come down to this and she had contacted police and city authorities in the past.
Patterson was arrested and charged on one count of Criminal Homicide. He was booked at the Anderson County jail on a $250,000 bond.
