East TN man charged after shooting at neighbor driving down road, sheriff’s office says

JAMESTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Fentress County man has been charged after he allegedly fired a gun at a neighbor who was driving down the road Thursday evening, according to the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office.
FCSO said the incident prompted several agencies to respond to the scene and a temporary road closure.
Emergency Call and Temporary Road Closure
FCSO said deputies were dispatched to Old Allardt Road in Jamestown Thursday evening following a report that a person in the 1300 block was shooting at a neighbor who was driving past.
As a precaution for officer and public safety, authorities temporarily shut down Old Allardt Road while they responded to the scene.
Multi-Agency Response and Suspect Apprehension
Deputies, with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department, quickly established a perimeter around the area to contain the situation.
Upon arriving, FCSO said officers confirmed that shots had indeed been fired and identified the suspect as Doyle Jones. Officers approached the home and commanded Jones to step off the porch.
Jones complied with the commands and was taken into custody without incident. Once law enforcement verified that there was no longer any threat to the public, Old Allardt Road was reopened to traffic.
Pending Charges and Suspect Custody
Jones was taken into custody and charged with the following:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon
As of Friday morning, he is being held in the Fentress County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
